He is also possessed by the main killer in the series
To control where he is, you need to play audio leading him away from your room.
It's rumored that Springtrap is actually a mash-up of all the characters.

- Some people mistook Springtrap for Golden Freddy in the trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's 3.
- If you look closely, Springtrap is the only animatronic to have 5 fingers (and all the other animatronic characters have only 4), which makes him more human-like, because he was used as a mascot.
- If you would look closely, you would see a human corpse inside of Springtrap. Theories say that this corpse is proven to be the purple man because of the final minigame.
